About Us

Welcome to the Glove Box Guides™. If you’re an old friend and reader, thanks for coming back to visit us. You’ll see that we updated our web site to be a bit more user-friendly and to incorporate some of the changes you’ve asked us for.

If you’re new to us, here’s the scoop on who we are and what we do: GBG is a growing series of dining and drinking guides for major cities. Our books, Hungry? and Thirsty? give you “the lowdown on where the real people eat and drink,” so you can rely on us for the inside scoop on where to go, what to eat, where not to park, and what menu items to choose (or steer clear of). Based on the feedback of our loyal readers, we’re constantly trying to improve our guides and, to that extent, we’ve introduced a new line of books, the Hungry? Family editions, which uses our tried and true criteria to provide you with the cities’ best family-friendly eateries.

Each Hungry? and Thirsty? has hundreds of listings, organized by neighborhood and written by folks who are actually regulars of the establishments they feature—all wrapped up in a portable and lively lime green, hot pink, or school bus yellow cover. It’s all you need to navigate a city, whether you’re a tourist, commuter, resident, or native.

Our guides cover Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas, New Orleans (with updates pending the outcome of Katrina relief), Chicago, Boston and New York City, with plans for new editions for Hawaii, Orlando and San Francisco in the coming months.

We’re lucky to have a great team of supporters, from dedicated City Editors and contributors, to book buyers, press and readers. If you’d like to tell us about a great local joint or favorite watering hole, please contact us at editor@hungrycity.com and we’ll be sure to contact you when we start our next edition.
